This ongoing, project-based class invites you to explore decorative arts through a blend of Persian-inspired motifs, traditional craftsmanship, and modern creative techniques. You’ll work at your own pace, learning how to build layers of texture, pattern, and detail to transform everyday surfaces into art.

Whether you’re drawn to subtle finishes or intricate ornamentation, this class gives you the space to experiment, refine, and develop your personal style over time.

What You’ll Learn

In this class, you’ll be introduced to a wide range of decorative techniques. You can explore them step by step or focus on what interests you most:

• Decoupage and transfer techniques
• Crackle finishes and aging effects
• Vitray (glass) painting
• Dimensional calligraphy and stencil relief (nama monabat)
• Antique mirror techniques
• Gold, silver, and copper leaf application
• Surface texturing and layered finishes
• Carpet-frame canvas compositions

Each technique builds on the idea of layering—adding depth, history, and character to your work.

Projects You Can Create

You’ll choose your own projects based on your interests and skill level. Possible surfaces include:
